Q:why are commissions closed? A: i'm currently trying to whittle down my waiting list. in the future, i would like to have 3-5 spots at a time. having 10-15 commissions is simply too much for me to handle.
Q:when do commissions open back up? A: hard to say, but i generally inform customers via facebook.
Q:how can i place an order for something? A: email me at samdejesusjr@gmail.com
Q:what type of work do you do? A: i typically deal with figurine commissions, usually based on popular video games, however i am more than happy to do commissions of whatever character you like: movie stars, cartoons or even your own original character.
Q:how do you make these figurines? A: these are originally 4-inch Kidrobot Do-It-Yourself blanks, that have been modified extensively to resemble a character. i can also use other items (such as action figures) in order to make the character less cartoony. these are one of a kind sculptures that have been altered with clay and paint, so they are definitely susceptible to damage if handled or dropped (read: not a child's play thing!)
Q: how much? A: depending on the amount of sculpting needed, my work starts at $100. more detail necessitates a higher price! for example, a simple figure such as [link] will cost $100, while custom action figures [link] will go for as much as $300. orders over $300 will also be charged 2.9% in order to cover Paypal's transfer fee.
Q:what about shipping? A: shipping costs are also paid by the buyer. this includes packaging to protect the sculpture.
Q:when do you ship? A: i ship only after final payment is made. my shipping days are monday and thursday.
Q:what about damage from shipping? A: i offer free repairs for damage due to shipping.
Q:what about shipping insurance? A: insurance, also paid for by the buyer, must be purchased for all orders over $100.
Q:how can i pay? A: i take payment only thru paypal and dwolla. all orders will require a relatively small advance to be used towards materials.
Q:what if i cannot make my final payment? A: your advance payment will be taken as time spent working on my project and you will forfeit ownership over your order if i do not receive final payment within one week of completion.
Q:what about refunds? A: as a buyer, your opinion is sought throughout the creation process - you can ask for specific requests or modifications. all sales are final.
Q:how long does it take to make one? A: depending on the character, anywhere from 3 days up to 2 weeks. please also take into account my current commission queue.
Q:do you make art other than toys/figurines? A: yes i do! i can make drawings and paintings, either on paper, canvas or skateboards. the price of these also depend on the amount of detail (time) spent on the object. _________________________

Can you give me a quote for a Debonair Jayce? How much for a custom face (to look like my husband--not much different than Jayce, himself!)? Would this be a free-standing action figure or on a base? Could you include a link to a similar figurine?
this order would fall under 'custom figurine' in my guide - ranging from $250-$350; a base would add an additional $60.
i generally work around 5 to 7 inches for figurines. details such as a different face are doable. this [link] one stands at 7 inches and cost $300, i think your order would be $350+shipping at 7 inch height.
